Insurance

We want to share an important update regarding insurance and hearing benefit programs. We remain in-network with UnitedHealthcare for hearing aid benefits.

Currently, we are not participating in any hearing benefit network programs. After much consideration, we have decided to come out of network with TruHearing, Ear Professionals Network (formerly UnitedHealthcare Hearing) and Amplifon. These programs are discount programs that determine which hearing aids and services are included and which are not. These programs often limit best-practice services that are essential for optimal hearing outcomes. We have decided to no longer compromise the quality of care we provide.

We are always happy to help you understand your coverage and your options. If you would prefer to work with a discount clinic, we appreciate that we are not for everyone. We feel we offer competitive pricing and service packages, which include best practices.

Do You Have a Different Insurance Company?

AHAS will verify your insurance coverage and check hearing aid benefits prior to your appointment, only if the correct insurance information is provided.

If you would like us to verify your insurance benefits, please make sure you provide us with your insurance company name, member ID, and provider phone number (on the back of the card). If the insurance is in a spouse’s name, we also need their name and date of birth.

We recommend emailing us copies of the front and back of your insurance card when you schedule your appointment, so we have plenty of time to verify coverage. If you do not provide insurance information, we will not have benefit information available at your appointment, which may delay treatment.

As an out-of-network provider, other insurance companies may cover some—or all—of our services. Charges not covered by insurance are the client’s responsibility. All major credit cards, checks, and cash are accepted as forms of payment.

About Our Pricing Model

Since most health insurance companies do not cover hearing aids, AHAS offers a unique, transparent pricing model.

Most professional audiology clinics use a bundled pricing model, requiring patients to pay upfront for a set of services, regardless of whether they are used.

AHAS offers an unbundled, or itemized, pricing structure. That means you only pay for the services that you actually use.
